Norwegian offshore vessel operator DOF has secured a contract extension for its construction support vessel (CSV) Skandi Patagonia in Argentina. The extension was awarded by French energy company TotalEnergies and will keep the 2000-built vessel in operation for an additional three years, with two optional one-year extensions.

The contract, effective from January 2026, covers the vessel’s services in offshore construction, leveraging its 50-tonne crane and diving capabilities. Skandi Patagonia has been serving TotalEnergies in the region since its delivery in 2000, reflecting a long-standing partnership between the companies.

Mons Aase, CEO of DOF Group, commented: “We are looking forward to continuing our support of TotalEnergies in Argentina with Skandi Patagonia, a vessel which has been operating in the same region with the same client since it was delivered from the yard in 2000.”

This extension underscores DOF’s ongoing commitment to providing reliable offshore support services in South America. The CSV’s specialized equipment and operational experience are expected to play a key role in TotalEnergies’ offshore projects, enhancing safety, efficiency, and overall project execution.

Skandi Patagonia’s continued deployment aligns with DOF’s strategy of maintaining long-term client relationships and maximizing vessel utilization across its fleet. The vessel’s diving capabilities and heavy-lift crane support complex offshore operations, including subsea construction, maintenance, and inspection tasks, contributing to operational flexibility and cost efficiency.

The contract extension also demonstrates confidence in DOF’s operational standards and the vessel’s performance record, ensuring continuity in offshore support services for TotalEnergies’ activities in Argentine waters.

With this extension, DOF reinforces its presence in the Latin American offshore market while ensuring that Skandi Patagonia remains a key asset in the company’s CSV fleet. The vessel’s long-term deployment will allow TotalEnergies to maintain consistent offshore operations while benefiting from DOF’s technical expertise and regional experience.

Overall, the contract highlights the importance of experienced offshore support vessels in enabling safe, efficient, and continuous offshore energy operations. DOF’s focus on maintaining specialized assets like Skandi Patagonia ensures readiness to meet client needs while contributing to the broader development of the offshore energy sector in Argentina and beyond.
