The ongoing infrastructure work includes constructing well pads, improving road access, and installing drilling support pipes. These efforts are essential to ensure the site is ready for geothermal exploration and energy production, contributing to Indonesia’s renewable energy goals.

PT PLN shared updates on the project during a press event in Ngada Regency, inviting local journalists to visit the Mataloko site. The initiative sought to strengthen collaboration between the company and the media, fostering transparent communication. This is particularly significant in Flores, where community concerns about geothermal projects have grown in recent months.

To address these concerns, PT PLN committed to ongoing engagement with local residents and collaboration with provincial and district governments. The company aims to provide accurate and clear information to build trust and support for the project.

“I hope this activity will help PLN convey clear and accurate information regarding the development of the Mataloko Geothermal Power Plant, while also providing education for the people of Ngada Regency,” said Head of Geothermal Engineering and Assistant Project Manager Adrys Silaban.

“Many people are hoping for a direct explanation from PLN. Through this media visit, we want to ensure the information they receive is clear, accurate, and sourced from the right source,” added General Manager of PT PLN Nusra Rizki Aftarianto.

The Mataloko project underscores PT PLN’s commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure while prioritizing community engagement and transparency. By addressing local concerns and fostering partnerships, the company aims to ensure the project’s success and contribute to sustainable energy development in Indonesia.
