Heliorec Completes O&M for 250 KW Floating Solar Plant in France

French company HelioRec has completed operations and maintenance work on its 250 kW floating solar installation located at Domaine de Cicé-Blossac, France. The system, which began operating on October 29, 2024, has contributed to avoiding approximately 70 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. According to the company, this reduction is equivalent to planting 96 trees.

Earlier this year, the installation endured a major flood event. HelioRec noted that this experience highlights the resilience and effective design of its floating solar system. The company stated: “This O&M milestone reinforces the reliability of floating solar solutions, even in dynamic inland water environments.”

HelioRec continues to expand its international presence. In April 2025, the company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shoreham Port in the United Kingdom. This agreement outlines plans to develop a floating solar power project at the port. HelioRec said the initiative aligns with Shoreham Port’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and fits its own approach to transforming unused water surfaces into clean energy platforms.

In February 2025, HelioRec introduced the STEWART project. This initiative is focused on advancing environmentally responsible floating solar technologies. The project is supported by the European Union and the Région Pays de la Loire under the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETPartnership).

HelioRec is positioning itself as a key player in sustainable solar technology, particularly in the area of floating systems designed for inland and coastal water environments.
