Situated in a bustling commercial complex near Baiyun Railway Station, a major transportation hub in Guangzhou’s Baiyun District, the new station features 30 charging stalls with 50 connectors, including 480kW ultra-fast chargers. This strategic location, combining high-capacity charging with commercial and transit access, establishes the facility as a vital energy hub for the region.
The station offers driver-focused amenities, including a rest area and a waterless car wash service, alongside convenient access to dining, leisure facilities, and the nearby railway station. This setup sets a new standard for urban EV charging by integrating advanced infrastructure with user-friendly services.
Following this opening, bp pulse and XPENG plan to launch three additional collaborative charging stations in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. These locations were chosen using a joint model targeting areas with high EV ownership to ensure optimal service coverage in key urban zones. The partnership is now focusing on deeper integration within major city centers.
The January 2025 MoU enables users of both companies to access a combined network of over 30,000 chargers across 420 cities in China, creating one of the country’s most extensive EV charging ecosystems. bp pulse, the EV charging division of bp, emphasizes safe, fast, and reliable charging solutions. It currently manages over 20,000 charging connectors in China, supported by a digital platform serving more than four million registered users.
A bp pulse spokesperson stated: “This partnership with XPENG strengthens our commitment to building a robust and accessible EV charging network in China’s urban centers.” Similarly, an XPENG representative noted: “By combining our expertise with bp pulse, we are creating a seamless and efficient charging experience for EV drivers across the country.”
This collaboration underscores the growing demand for advanced EV infrastructure in China’s major cities, supporting the transition to sustainable transportation through innovative and accessible charging solutions.
