Octopus Australia has selected Gransolar Group’s contractor, GRS, to construct the $300 million Fulham Solar Farm hybrid project in Victoria. This project will feature an 80 MW photovoltaic solar farm paired with 128 MWh of battery storage. GRS, which has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) as well as the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contract, marks this as their 15th project in Australia.

The Fulham Solar Farm will enhance the electricity supply and improve grid reliability in the region east of the Latrobe Valley. The hybrid setup, which combines solar power with battery storage, will provide a consistent and reliable energy source. GRS has committed to utilizing local labor and sourcing materials, including steel, from Australian suppliers to support the project.

Jose Miguel Plaza Pardo, the Managing Director of Gransolar Group in Australia, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are delighted to have been selected to carry out this innovative project. The Fulham project is one of the first utility-scale DC-coupled hybrid projects that will be connected to the grid, and we appreciate Octopus Investments Australia’s trust in our experience to execute this challenging project.”

This collaboration represents a significant milestone in Gransolar Group's ongoing partnership with Octopus Investments Australia, showcasing their mutual dedication to advancing renewable energy and promoting sustainable growth.

Sonia Teitel, Co-Managing Director of Octopus Renewables Australia, also praised the partnership: “GRS has continually demonstrated a solutions-oriented approach to the Fulham Solar Farm and Battery Project. We look forward to leveraging their expertise during the construction phase and working together to deliver long-term benefits to the local community.”

The Fulham Solar Farm project further strengthens the push for renewable energy solutions in Australia, contributing to the country's clean energy transition.
