Since its launch, Whoosh has completed 26,168 train trips, covering over 4.11 million kilometers. As a crucial transportation link between Jakarta and Bandung, the service has quickly gained popularity, providing a safe, efficient, green, and comfortable travel option for passengers. Currently, Whoosh operates 62 daily train services, with the highest passenger volume recorded on a single day reaching 24,350.
During the recent Eid al-Fitr holiday, passenger numbers surged significantly. KCIC reported that 341,100 passengers traveled on Whoosh during the holiday period, with daily volumes ranging from 16,500 to 23,500. The peak number of passengers in one day reached 23,500 on April 6.
Developed collaboratively by China and Indonesia, the Whoosh high-speed railway spans 142.3 kilometers and operates at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. This service has dramatically reduced travel time between Jakarta and Bandung, cutting it from over three hours to just 46 minutes. The project has been recognized for its contribution to modernizing Indonesia’s transportation infrastructure and providing a fast, reliable, and sustainable travel option for the growing number of passengers.
