Tigo Energy Releases Off-Grid Solar Package

03 May 2025  by pv magazine
Tigo Energy has introduced a new solution designed for off-grid residential solar power applications. The package includes a module-level power optimizer, inverter, battery, and an automatic transfer switch, along with options for 20 kWh or 40 kWh of storage capacity. This system aims to simplify installation and configuration, with a user-friendly app for self-guided activation and operation. Key features include energy management capabilities, DC architecture, and optimizers that prevent round-trip power conversion losses, supporting up to 700 W of solar modules with a 25-year warranty.

The inverter, rated at 11.4 kW, integrates seamlessly with energy storage and includes four maximum power point trackers and 200% DC oversizing. The lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, suitable for outdoor and indoor use, offers 9.9 kWh per enclosure and supports up to 4 batteries, storing up to 39.6 kWh. It provides 5 kW continuous power and 6 kW peak power, with an IP56/NEMA4 rating and a 132-month warranty or 6,000 cycles, whichever comes first. The transfer switch supports switching electrical loads from the grid to battery backup and can supplement with a reserve generator for additional energy storage.

All components are managed through Tigo Energy Intelligence software, enabling remote monitoring and operations. Archie Roboostoff, vice president of software at Tigo Energy, emphasized that the system streamlines installation and reduces complexity, particularly for custom configurations. Tigo Energy highlighted this package as a response to the growing demand from traditional residential solar customers seeking efficient and reliable off-grid solutions.
