Elemental Energies and Iceland Drilling announce a global geothermal joint venture
Elemental Energies, a specialist in subsurface, well engineering, and well management, and Iceland Drilling Company, a contractor for geothermal drilling services, have announced a joint venture (JV) to provide integrated well engineering and project delivery solutions for the global geothermal market. The JV combines Iceland Drilling's expertise in high-temperature geothermal drilling with Elemental Energies' subsurface and well engineering capabilities. With increasing momentum in the geothermal sector due to decarbonization targets and technological advancements, the JV aims to support growing project demand by integrating well engineering, subsurface, drilling, and project management to assure supply, leverage best practices, and reduce project costs. The JV will offer a full suite of integrated services tailored to support projects at any stage, from early planning and feasibility studies to conceptual and detailed engineering, drilling services, project management, and operational execution.Marit Brommer of the International Geothermal Association (IGA) praised the partnership, stating that it combines expertise in well engineering, management, and drilling to streamline project delivery and help de-risk and scale geothermal development globally.
