Construction Completed at Geothermal Heating Plant in Kolo, Poland

Construction has officially been completed for the geothermal heating plant of Geotermia Kolo Sp. z o. o. in the city of Kolo in Poland. Heat supply is expected to start within the first quarter of 2024 pending the acquisition of the appropriate concessions.

The completion of the construction was commemorated with an event attended by Krzysztof Witkowski, the mayor of Kolo, and Przemys?aw Stasiak, President of Geotermia Kolo, together with the company’s staff, contractors, and supervision inspectors.

Stasiak emphasized the importance of the historic moment, noting that the city had been waiting for the product of this investment for several years. More importantly, the noted that the project was completed on schedule and that the contractor was up to the monumental task.

The signing of the contracts for the funding of the geothermal heating project was done in mid-2022. In total, the utility company MZEC received PLN 28,409,462.50 of a non-returnable subsidy for the construction of a geothermal heating plant in Kolo.

The city mayor also described the completion of the project as a turning point in the history of the city. He said that the project can help bring the city to new stages of development. Aside from heating for domestic use, the geothermal facility can also boost the city’s recreation and tourism sectors. The mayor thanked everyone involved in the project, particularly the company Geotermia Kolo and President Przemys?aw Stasiak.
