ISA Cteep to Invest $3 Bln in Brazil Power Transmission Projects by 2028

Brazilian power company ISA Cteep (TRPL4.SA) is set to invest more than 15 billion reais ($3 billion) in electricity transmission projects in the country by 2028, chief executive Rui Chammas said in a meeting with investors on Tuesday.

ISA Cteep, which is controlled by Colombia-based ISA (ISA.CN), was the big winner in an auction for transmission assets held by the government in June, when it got three of the auctioned projects.

Chammas said those projects were key for the firm's growth strategy, adding that the planned investments would be directed towards building new transmission lines and electrical substations and also renovating existing assets.

After the latest auction, ISA Cteep has seven transmission projects to be developed in Brazil, which are seen requiring 10.6 billion reais in disbursements by 2028. The other 5 billion would be invested in projects that are already online.

Despite the strong investment flow, the company plans to maintain its current dividend policy, which includes payouts totaling 75% of its net result, chief financial officer Carisa Portela said at the meeting.
