The project is located in Ishikawa Prefecture.

Nanao Solar Project, a 51-megawatt joint venture between Vena Energy and Kyudenko Corporation, has started commercial operations.

In a statement, Vena Energy said the project is one of the largest solar facilities in the Ishikawa Prefecture as it comprises 118,484 solar photovoltaics on 102 hectares of land.

The project, Vena Energy’s first renewable energy project in the prefecture, can supply electricity to around 10,433 Japanese households, it said.

It can reduce up to 31,205 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and save over 49 million litres of water annually.
