Keel Laid for Second Acta Marine Methanol Powered CSOV

07 Jun 2023  by offshorewind
Tersan Shipyard has held a keel-laying ceremony for Acta Marine’s second construction service operations vessel (CSOV) NB1121 which is being manufactured in Turkey.
Tersan Shipyard is building two DP2 CSOVs for Acta Marine which will be powered with methanol and MDO/HVO.

The Dutch vessel owner signed a contract with the shipyard in June 2022. Acta Marine has also reserved options for two additional CSOVs for delivery at a later stage.

The vessels are of the new SX-216 TWIN-X Stern design from Ulstein Design & Solutions AS that was exclusively designed for and in cooperation with Acta Marine.

The CSOVs will be 89 metres in length, 19 metres in width, and can accommodate 135 people in 85 cabins. The vessels will be equipped with SMST’s motion-compensated gangway systems, mounted on integrated towers with height adjustment and personnel/cargo lifts.

In addition, the vessels will feature SMST 3D-motion compensated cranes with six tonnes of lifting capacity. The cargo area is 500 square metres indoors and 500 square metres outdoors.

The first two vessels are planned to be delivered next year.

In addition to adding CSOVs to its fleet, Acta Marine also ordered two ‘green’ service operation vessels (SOVs) from Tersan Shipyard under a long-term vessel supply agreement signed with the German offshore wind developer RWE.
