The French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has selected 4 projects totalling 54 MW under the third 925 MW tranche of the PPE2 call for tenders relating to onshore wind installations with an average price of €76.4/MWh (+13% compared to the precedent auction). The state agency received 60 bids totalling 944 MW, so the tender was 2% oversubscribed. The previous round was 64% undersubscribed with 10 proposals totalling 337 MW for a total volume offered of 925 MW.

Onshore wind accounts for nearly 14% of France’s installed capacity with 18.8 GW (2021). Between 2014 and 2021, the country added an average of 1.3 GW/year of onshore wind capacity. France targets between 21.8 GW and 26 GW of onshore wind capacity by 2023.
