Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has revised its agreement on nuclear power plant decommissioning with Orano SA, a multinational nuclear fuel cycle company headquartered in Chatillon, Hauts-de-Seine, France.

KHNP signed an agreement with Orano in 2020 to cooperate in the nuclear power plant decommissioning business. The two companies have agreed to revise their agreement to take their business cooperation to the next level.

Under the agreement, the two sides will expand opportunities for Korean technical personnel to work at overseas nuclear power plant decommissioning sites and receive technical advice and training from Orano experts.

“KHNP will continue to expand cooperation in the nuclear power plant decommissioning sector with excellent overseas companies,” KHNP president Chung Jae-hoon said. “In particular, we will make efforts to strengthen Korean engineers’ expertise in nuclear power plant decommissioning.”
