As the population grows and urbanization increases, African countries need to close the existing energy gap as well as prepare for future demand. Some countries have identified nuclear power as part of their energy mix. This video examines some of the requirements and barriers to running a successful nuclear program. Some countries exploring nuclear power include Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Morocco, Niger, Egypt, Ghana. At the moment, South Africa has the only commercial nuclear plant in Africa.
