Goldwind Installs 100 MW of Wind Energy in Argentina

09 Jun 2021  by evwind.es

In April, the Loma Blanca VI wind farm (100 MW), with Goldwind wind turbines, was approved by the National Electricity Market Management Agency (CAMMESA) and entered the commercial operation period of 20 years. So far, Goldwind’s five wind power projects in Argentina have entered commercial operation (COD).

The five wind farms are equipped with GW 3S smart wind turbines, with a total of 109 units and 354.6MW of installed capacity. Approximately 1.6 billion kilowatt-hours of clean energy will be generated annually after the five projects come online, producing stable and continuous green energy for Argentina.

With that large wind energy group including 5 projects being developed and built at the same time, the project team faced many challenges during construction. However, through proactive communications with all related parties and close work with construction partners, the Goldwind team overcame the negative impact, especially from the pandemic, and achieved the ultimate success of all projects.

Since the first wind farm of the five was completed, Goldwind’s turbine performance has always ranked first among dozens of wind farms in Argentina, bringing increasing recognition and reputation to the company.

During construction, in cooperation with our partners, Goldwind took strict environmental and health protection measures, actively participated in local community activities, and trained a group of wind turbine operation and maintenance professionals. Going forward, Goldwind will continue to participate in Argentina’s renewable energy development with our advantage and capability of wind energy solutions, and will support the deepening of China-Argentina cooperation.
