05 Feb 2021  by WorldEnergy

On February 4, at the press conference of CNOOC Limited’s 2021 strategic outlook, CNOOC Chief Executive Xu Keqiang said that the company's second offshore wind power project has been granted the right to develop in April 2020. The project is located in Shantou, Guangdong, with a total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts. Preparatory work is currently underway.

On September 15 last year, CNOOC's first offshore wind power project-Jiangsu Zhugensha (H2#) project was connected to the grid for power generation. The planned installed capacity of the project is 300 MW.

2021 is the last year of China's offshore wind power subsidies. Xu Keqiang said that CNOOC will adopt a prudent investment attitude towards offshore wind power projects. Only on the premise that offshore wind power obtains investment benefits, will the future increase investment, and the investment will account for more than 5%.
