The five contracted projects are the Miñón, Ourol, Croa I, Croa II and Monte Tourado projects. Located across the provinces of La Coruña and Lugo, these will have a total capacity of 74.22MW.

The Miñón wind farm has already started operations while the Ourol wind farm recently finished construction. The remaining three wind farms are currently in the initial execution phase.

Greenalia awarded the construction, maintenance, operation and control contract for 19 turbines. Of these, 14 will be installed in the province of La Coruña and the remaining in Lugo.

As per the contracts signed with Enercon and Gamesa, Elecnor will supply and install the wind turbines for the projects.

The contracted work includes construction of two substations of 132kV and 66kV. It also mandates the installation of an 8km high voltage overhead line.

Additionally, Elecnor will install all medium voltage grids and fibre-optic networks, and carry out the design and construction of the farms’ civil infrastructures.

The company will take responsibility for maintenance, operations and control of the five wind farms for the first two years. Once operational, the power generated by the wind farms will power approximately 45,000 households in the region.
