Vestas has secured a 504MW order for an undisclosed project in Columbia, its first for EnVentus machines in Latin America.

The Danish manufacturer said the deal covers 90 V162-5.6MW units and a 15-year service agreement.

Delivery and commissioning details have been withheld at the customer’s request, the company said.

“The EnVentus platform establishes a new benchmark in competitiveness, and we expect it to make a huge contribution to the energy transition both in Colombia and in Latin America over the coming years”, said Vestas Vice President for LATAM North Agustín Sánchez Tembleque.

Meanwhile, Vestas also confirmed a number of other contracts in its regular end of quarter rush.

These include a 51MW deal in Italy for eleven V136-4.3MW turbines and one V117-3.45MW machine for an undisclosed project.

Turbine delivery is planned for the third quarter of 2021, whilst commissioning is expected for the fourth quarter of the same year.

“The variety and competitiveness of our 4MW platform portfolio allow us to meet the different needs of our customers in Italy and provide them with long-term business certainty," said Vestas Vice President of Sales for Southern Europe and Turkey, Rainer Karan.

The end-year haul also includes 46MW and 35MW deals in Spain for eleven V136-4.2MW and sixteen V120-2.2MW units, respectively, both for unnamed wind farms due online in the first have of 2022.

In neighbouring Portugal, the manufacturer has inked a 8MW deal to extend three projects in Portugal owned by Finerge.

Two V120-2.2MW and one V136-3.6MW are part of the deal, with deliveries in the quarter quarter of this year and commissioning in early 2022.

In India meanwhile a 17MW contract for the Hospet project in Karnataka has been confirmed. Seven V120-2.2MW and one V100-2.0MW are to feature.

Commissioning is planned in the third quarter of this year.
