On September 28, 2020, the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) of China announced that China's third-generation nuclear power technology "Gohe-1" with completely independent intellectual property rights has completed research and development.

This is the latest achievement of China's nuclear power technology development and industrial innovation.

CAP1400 is a large-scale nuclear reactor designed by China. It is based on the international advanced third-generation nuclear technology and supported by the development of advanced pressurized water reactors. CAP1400 has the characteristics of high safety factor, good economic performance and innovation.

It is worth noting that the development of the CAP1400 project began in 2008. After 12 years of scientific research, an innovative third-generation nuclear system and production supply system have been established. The new reactor has contributed to the overall renewal of China's nuclear power and technology.

The design life of the CAP1400 nuclear device is 60 years, and the possibility of a serious accident is 100 times lower than that of the second-generation nuclear power plant.

Currently, China has two third-generation nuclear reactors designed by China-"Gohe-1" and "Hualong-1".
