Chinese Yard to Fabricate Seagreen Jackets

Fluor Corporation joint venture COOEC-Fluor Heavy Industries yard in Zhuhai, China, has been awarded a contract to fabricate jackets and suction caissons from Seaway 7 for the first phase of SSE's 1075MW

Seagreen offshore wind farm off the east coast of Scotland.

COOEC-Fluor’s scope of work for Seagreen 1 includes the fabrication and load-out of suction caisson jackets.

Fluor energy and chemicals business president Mark Fields said: “Fluor is committed to building a better world by providing renewable energy solutions to meet our clients’ needs.

“Through our joint venture COOEC-Fluor fabrication yard – one of the world’s largest – we will demonstrate Fluor’s commitment to sustainable development by working with Seaway 7 to successfully deliver the jackets and suction caissons for Scotland’s largest wind farm.”

SSE said: “We can confirm that all fabrication contracts have been placed for Seagreen offshore wind farm.”

Another Chinese company, Jutal Offshore Oil Services, and UAE fabricator Lamprell have also been contracted to supply foundations to the project.
