07 Aug 2019

Automaker Nissan has partnered with an operator of public EV chargers to install some 200 new EV fast chargers across the US.

With EVgo, the automaker will install the 100KW ChadeMO DC fast chargers as part of efforts to increase consumer adoption of EVs and to accelerate the electrification of the transportation industry.

The two had previously partnered under a six year partnership. Nissan has to date invested $60 million to increase consumer EV charging stations and installed 2,000 fast EV chargers since 2010.

The partnership aims to reduce the duration for consumer full EV charging.

Nissan and EVgo will co-market their chargers to inform and raise awareness among US EV drivers about the advantages of going electric.

"Nissan is proud to have partnered with EVgo to build the largest public EV fast charging network in the US.," said Aditya Jairaj, director, EV Sales and Marketing, Nissan North America, Inc. "Given the tremendous driver response to the 2019 long-range1 all-electric LEAF, Nissan and EVgo will accelerate fast charging by committing to a multi-year charger construction program that will continue to expand fast-charging options for EV drivers across the country."EVgo has a network of more than 1,200 public fast chargers across the country and Nissan has sold more than 400,000 LEAF vehicles worldwide.
