The Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Plant in east China's Shandong Province officially started a debugging run. The construction of the project in the coastal city of Rongcheng started in December 2012. The reactor can shut down safely in case of emergency without causing a reactor core meltdown or massive leakage of radioactive material.
