PK of Capacity Factors of China's Nuclear Power Units in 2025

25 Feb 2026
From January to December 2025, the national cumulative power generation was 9,701.58 billion kilowatt-hours. The cumulative power generation from operating nuclear power units was 467.019 billion kilowatt-hours, accounting for 4.82% of the national total.

From January to December 2025, the utilization hours of nuclear power equipment were 7,858.07 hours, with an average unit capacity factor of 93.11%. (The nuclear power unit capacity factor refers to the ratio of the actual power generation of a nuclear power unit to its theoretical maximum power generation over a certain period, usually expressed as a percentage).

The following units performed outstandingly:

1. Highly Efficient and Stable Operating Units (Capacity Factor reaching 100% or close to it)

Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant: Units 2, 3, 4, and 5 all achieved a capacity factor of 100%, demonstrating extremely outstanding performance.

Ningde Nuclear Power Plant: Unit 1 (99.99%).

Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plant: Unit 3 (99.99%), Unit 6 (99.99%).

Qinshan Phase III Nuclear Power Plant: Unit 2 (100%).

Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant: Unit 2 (100%).

Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant: Unit 3 (100%).

2. Units Leading in Single-Unit Power Generation

Taishan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 2: Power generation of 13.084 billion kilowatt-hours, grid-connected electricity of 12.236 billion kilowatt-hours. Both figures are the highest among all units.

Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1: Power generation of 10.486 billion kilowatt-hours.

3. Units with Outstanding Equipment Utilization Efficiency

Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant Unit 6: Nuclear power equipment utilization hours reached 8,653.92 hours, the highest in the table.

Ningde Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1: Utilization hours reached 8,421.36 hours.
