Ericsson has partnered with Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar Institute of Telecom Training (BRBRAITT), an apex training institute under Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited in Jabalpur, to provide advanced training in next-generation technologies including 5G and IoT. The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in the presence of Hon’ble Minister of Communications Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia and Shri Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. The initiative aligns with the Skill India and Digital India programs.

Under the partnership, engineering students will receive hands-on, instructor-led training at the Ericsson 5G Center of Excellence hosted at BRBRAITT, along with access to self-paced online modules via Ericsson Educate. More than 2,200 students annually will participate, covering essential concepts of 5G and IoT. The curriculum combines theory with practical sessions on 5G architecture, key use cases, and direct exposure to 5G equipment. The program primarily targets third- and fourth-year students specializing in Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science.

This collaboration reflects Ericsson’s commitment to fostering a sustainable learning ecosystem in India. With approximately 22,000 employees in India, including 2,200 in R&D, the country represents Ericsson’s largest global workforce and plays a central role in the company’s innovation and manufacturing strategy. The initiative also supports India’s broader digital transformation goals by building a skilled talent pool capable of advancing technologies critical to the nation’s economic growth.

Nitin Bansal, Managing Director of Ericsson India, highlighted: “At Ericsson, we are deeply committed to India’s digital growth journey. This collaboration is a step forward in building a future-ready talent pool that can innovate, design, and lead in new-age technologies like 5G and IoT. As we continue to strengthen our presence in India across R&D, design, and manufacturing, enabling a robust learning ecosystem is a natural extension of our long-term strategy. By combining our global expertise with India’s engineering talent, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the Government’s Digital India, Skill India and Make in India missions.”

The program’s objectives include equipping students with practical skills to operate and innovate within India’s expanding 5G ecosystem, supporting the country’s digital infrastructure, and ensuring a workforce capable of contributing to emerging technologies such as AI and cloud computing. By providing both in-person and online training modules, the initiative ensures flexible and scalable learning opportunities for engineering students across India.

This partnership also underscores the importance of developing a technologically skilled workforce to support India’s target of becoming a $7 trillion economy by 2030 and achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047. Through such initiatives, Ericsson and BRBRAITT aim to strengthen India’s position in the global digital economy while fostering innovation, knowledge transfer, and long-term technological growth.
