Signs on the Interstate 75
The scope of work includes adding auxiliary lanes between interchanges, replacing bridges, milling and resurfacing roads, constructing noise barriers, building a new interchange at 49th Street, and modifying two existing interchanges. These upgrades are designed to significantly reduce congestion, with projections indicating a 96% reduction in northbound delays and an 88% reduction in southbound delays. The improvements will also enhance hurricane evacuation routes by upgrading shoulders, medians, and increasing road capacity.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2026 and is expected to be completed within three years, delivering a modernized transportation corridor for north-central Florida. The project aligns with efforts to enhance infrastructure efficiency and safety for residents and travelers.
