OX2 Hands Over 70MW Swedish Wind Farm

07 Jun 2025  by renews
OX2 has completed and officially transferred ownership of the 70MW Riberget wind farm in Sweden to independent power producer Fu-Gen. The wind farm, located in the regions of Västernorrland and Gävleborg, consists of 11 turbines and is projected to generate approximately 210GWh of electricity per year. This output is expected to support local industries and enhance regional energy competitiveness.

The Riberget project was developed through close cooperation with various stakeholders, including the municipality, local landowners, community members, and Fu-Gen. The process emphasized environmental responsibility, particularly biodiversity conservation and habitat preservation for sensitive species.

Emelie Zakrisson, Country Manager Sweden at OX2, stated: “We are proud to hand over Riberget wind farm and contribute to strengthening the renewable energy supply. From the start of the project, we have had a strong focus on biological diversity and actions to preserve areas with high nature values and create biotopes for endangered species.”

OX2 will remain involved in the project by continuing to manage the wind farm’s technical and commercial operations. This ensures ongoing efficiency and reliability in the farm's energy output and maintenance.

The Riberget wind farm reflects OX2's broader strategy of expanding its presence in renewable energy. The company is currently constructing 1600MW of wind power capacity across six international markets. In addition, OX2 is responsible for managing renewable energy assets with a total capacity of 6200MW.

The successful handover of Riberget further reinforces OX2’s commitment to developing sustainable infrastructure in collaboration with communities and stakeholders, while also supporting energy transition goals in Sweden. The partnership with Fu-Gen highlights the increasing role of independent power producers in contributing to clean energy solutions across the region.
