German energy storage company Voltfang, based in Aachen, announced on Tuesday an expansion of the warranty terms for its grid-connected, commercial-scale battery energy storage systems. The update removes the previous charging-cycle limit from its 10-year warranty, reflecting advancements in battery technology and management.

With new control algorithms, Voltfang says it has significantly minimized cyclic aging

The improved warranty stems from Voltfang’s detailed analysis of battery aging under real-world operating conditions. The company has enhanced its Energy Management System (EMS) and developed new control algorithms that significantly reduce cyclical aging. Voltfang stated: “Charging cycles no longer have a noticeable impact on capacity.” This allows the company to offer more flexible and reliable warranty terms for its clients.

Voltfang specializes in providing sustainable energy storage solutions for commercial applications, supporting the integration of renewable energy into power grids. The updated warranty is expected to increase confidence among customers, ensuring long-term performance and durability of the storage systems.

The removal of the charging-cycle limit aligns with Voltfang’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, addressing the growing demand for efficient energy storage in commercial sectors. This development positions the company as a leader in the energy storage market, offering robust solutions to support the transition to cleaner energy systems.
