As of May 19 in marketing year 2024/25, Ukraine has exported 37.153 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, according to data released by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine. This marks a decrease of 7.845 million tons, or 21.1%, compared to the same period last year.

Wheat exports reached 14.497 million tons, representing a decline of 2.363 million tons, or 16.3%, from the previous year. Corn exports totaled 19.808 million tons, which is 5.452 million tons or 27.5% lower year-on-year.

In addition to wheat and corn, Ukrainian farmers exported 2.286 million tons of barley and 10.8 thousand tons of rye. The overall reduction in exports reflects changes in production volumes, logistical conditions, and global demand patterns.

Flour exports also decreased significantly. A total of 62.3 thousand tons of flour was exported, equivalent to 83.1 thousand tons in grain terms. This is 28.3 thousand tons or 33.9% less than during the same timeframe last year.

The decline in exports across multiple grain types highlights the shifting dynamics of the international grain market and domestic agricultural trends. Ukraine remains a key player in the global grain trade, and these export figures are closely monitored by both domestic stakeholders and international buyers. The reported changes underscore the importance of ongoing developments in production, supply chain logistics, and foreign market access.
