Chinese energy storage company Biwatt has launched a new commercial and industrial (C&I) product, the Powerlake I2, utilizing sodium-ion cells. This system is designed with enhanced safety features, as its cells are thermally inert, reducing the risk of spontaneous combustion compared to other energy storage solutions.

The Powerlake I2 integrates energy storage and an inverter within a single control cabinet, offering a compact, all-in-one solution. It is engineered to maintain reliable performance across a wide range of temperatures, from -30°C to 55°C, ensuring consistent operation in diverse environmental conditions.

In the case of a power outage, the Powerlake I2 can seamlessly transition to off-grid mode in under 20 milliseconds, providing a continuous power supply without disruption. This rapid response makes it suitable for applications requiring stable and uninterrupted energy.

The system’s sodium-ion technology supports Biwatt’s focus on delivering safe and efficient energy storage for commercial and industrial users. By combining advanced cell chemistry with robust design, the Powerlake I2 meets the needs of businesses seeking dependable power management solutions.
