Cyclyx International, LLC, based in The Woodlands, Texas, has reached key construction milestones at its first Cyclyx Circularity Center in Houston. The project is progressing well, with all major civil and structural work now completed. In addition to this, the company is implementing strategic changes in its organizational structure to better align with its next phase of growth.

The new leadership appointments at Cyclyx’s corporate headquarters in Hughes Landing, The Woodlands, reflect a stronger emphasis on accelerating the development of the Houston facility. "We have recently brought on board senior, experienced industry leaders to support Cyclyx in our strategic focus," said Cyclyx CEO Chris Yandell. "The company continues to shift towards a disciplined and results-driven approach as it works to revolutionize plastic recycling. These changes allow us to concentrate resources on the capabilities required to deliver value, scale effectively, and meet the expectations of our partners."

Starting in May, Walter Sopp will assume the role of Chief Operating Officer, and Vinny Pires will join as the Commercial Vice President. Additionally, Dr. Leslie Hushka became the Chief Impact Officer in January. Under the leadership of CEO Yandell, who was appointed in December, Cyclyx is undergoing significant growth, with a focus on operational excellence and commercial strategy.

Sopp brings over 20 years of experience in building high-performing teams and organizations, having worked in the U.S., Australia, and China on industrial facility startups. He is an expert in operational planning, risk management, and change management and has a distinguished 22-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps. Hushka, with 25 years of experience in strategic partnerships, has built multiple sustainability-focused organizations and programs. She played a key role in creating an award-winning advanced recycling program and leading the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. Pires brings nearly 25 years of experience in commercial management, strategy, and business development in the steel, mining, and advanced materials sectors.

The Cyclyx Circularity Center in Houston, once operational, will have the capacity to produce 300 million pounds of custom-formulated feedstock annually. The company has also selected the Dallas-Fort Worth area for its second center. When both facilities are fully operational, they will have a combined capacity of 600 million pounds of ISCC-PLUS-certified feedstock for recycling purposes. Cyclyx’s headquarters in The Woodlands will serve as the operational base for Yandell and the incoming leadership team, as well as key personnel supporting the Houston and future centers.

Yandell also noted, "We value the collaboration, efficiency improvements, and strong business relationships with industry stakeholders we’ll have access to here in the Houston area."
