The Nasipit BESS will be integrated with TMI Mobile 2, an oil-fired power facility. According to Aboitiz Power, the project is slated for completion and operational status by the second quarter of 2026. This initiative builds on the company’s prior experience with a similar hybrid BESS installed at TMI Mobile 1 in Maco, Davao de Oro, which has been operational since 2022.
The new system aims to improve grid reliability and accommodate the increasing integration of renewable energy sources. “Once completed, the Nasipit BESS project will help enable more grid stability and support the growing share of renewable energy in our grid. It’s a smart solution for a smarter energy landscape,” said Ronaldo Ramos, AboitizPower Transition Business Group COO for Operated Assets.
This development reflects ongoing efforts to advance energy solutions that balance reliability and sustainability. By leveraging hybrid technology, the project is expected to contribute to a more resilient and adaptable power network in Agusan del Norte, meeting the region’s growing energy demands.
