Laurel Ridge Landfill in Lily, Kentucky with Vision RNG facility.
Developed in collaboration with Waste Connections, the Laurel Ridge RNG facility transforms methane emissions from the Laurel Ridge Landfill into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas. This process significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions while supplying a consistent source of clean energy.
Kevin Johnson, CFO of Vision RNG, stated: “We’re proud to have closed another successful tax credit transaction in support of our growing portfolio. The proceeds from this sale will allow us to further invest in projects that deliver both strong environmental and economic returns.”
CRC-IB acted as the financial advisor, and Holland & Knight, LLP provided legal counsel for the transaction.
The sale follows Vision RNG’s previous ITC transaction for its Eagle Ridge project, highlighting strong market demand for RNG-related tax credits facilitated by the Inflation Reduction Act. The company continues to use these financial mechanisms to expand its nationwide RNG project portfolio.
The Laurel Ridge facility is projected to generate approximately 450,000 MMBtu of RNG each year, sufficient to power over 8,000 homes. Additionally, it will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30,000 metric tons annually, contributing to environmental sustainability.
