The site supports fleets from companies including Dreaded Trucking, Hight Logistics, PepsiCo, Quick Container Drayage, Southern Counties Express, Tradelink Transport, and WestCoast Trucking & Warehousing. Equipped with 20 pull-through and bobtail DC fast charging stalls and a 7-megawatt capacity, the station can charge up to 125 trucks daily through a streamlined reservation system. The facility features Terawatt’s proprietary charge management system, onsite technicians, round-the-clock customer service, and parts management.
Neha Palmer, CEO and co-founder of Terawatt, stated: “This launch underscores growing collaboration between enterprises, shippers, carriers, and charging infrastructure providers to advance sustainable technologies across logistics and transportation operations, especially in the medium and heavy-duty sectors.” She also announced plans to open another charging site in Rialto, California, in June 2025.
In September 2024, Terawatt partnered with major shippers and carriers to initiate the I-10 Consortium heavy-duty electric vehicle operations pilot, described as the first electrified over-the-road corridor in the United States. Terawatt contributes charging infrastructure, software, operations, and maintenance support at six of its owned charging hubs along the I-10 corridor.
The Rancho Dominguez station represents a significant step toward electrifying medium- and heavy-duty trucking, reducing emissions in one of the busiest logistics hubs in the country. By providing reliable and efficient charging infrastructure, Terawatt aims to support the transition to sustainable transportation and enhance the operational efficiency of electric trucking fleets.
