Boco Rock Wind Farm.
Australian renewable energy producer Tilt Renewables on Tuesday said it has agreed to acquire the Boco Rock Wind Farm in New South Wales, including the project’s operating 113-MW first stage and the proposed 84-MW stage two expansion.
The company is buying the facility from Thailand's Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group) and Australia’s Squadron Energy. It expects to take full ownership in early 2025, following regulatory approvals. The 67-turbine, 113-MW wind farm has been in operation since November 2014, under a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with EnergyAustralia Pty Ltd.
Tilt Renewables said the acquisition boosts its wind and solar generation fleet in Australia, taking its operational portfolio to 1.8 GW. “Together with our broader development pipeline it is projects like Boco Rock Wind Farm that are securing our place as Australia’s leading operator of wind farms,” said Tilt Renewables CEO Anthony Fowler.
EGCO Group said separately the divestment is in line with its strategy for asset recycling to create long-term growth.
