The Croatian Hydrocarbon Agency (AZU) has announced a new round of tenders for the geothermal exploration of four areas. The four sites with links to the tender documents (in Croatian) are as follows:

Bjelovar

Brdovec

Slavonski Brod

Ludbreg

Geothermal exploration permits awarded thru this tender will be valid for a maximum of five years, with the possibility of extension for a maximum of two times with each extension lasting for six months. Offers must be submitted no later than 29 March 2024.

Bidders with a place of business outside the Republic of Croatia must be registered for the exploration and exploitation of geothermal waters with the competent body of the country where their place of business is located, among other requirements stated in the tender documents.

The AZU ran a similar tender before the end of 2022 which ultimately resulted in the awarding of five geothermal exploration blocks to three companies.
