WałBrzych, Poland Buys 20 Solaris Hydrogen Buses With Option for 25 More

The city of Wałbrzych, Poland, has contracted for 20 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses, including an option to purchase an additional 25 vehicles. The first 14 units will be delivered to Wałbrzych in September next year. The contract is to be completed by the end of July 2025.

The vehicles ordered will be the first hydrogen-powered vehicles to be deployed in the city. In Poland, hydrogen vehicles already successfully ply routes in the cities of Konin, Poznań and Lublin.

To date, Solaris has delivered more than 150 hydrogen buses and has more than 450 on order. This type of driveline is available in two lengths as a 12-meter and 18-meter articulated vehicle.

Wałbrzych is a city located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in southwestern Poland; it is located about 70 kilometers (43 mi) southwest of the voivodeship capital Wrocław and about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from the Czech border. Wałbrzych was once a major coal mining and industrial center alongside most of Silesia.
