Ozen Group, with its 45 years of experience in the food retailing sector, has undertaken an agricultural geothermal investment in Manisa Salihli with the Onur Market brand in the supermarket concept. The company has purchased a 140,000-square meter geothermal greenhouse facility with an investment of 150 million liras (approx. USD 5.7 million).

According to the statement, the geothermal greenhouse facility has an annual tomato production capacity of 5000 tons. The company predicts four times more efficiency with this investment compared to traditional agriculture methods. Thanks to ecological agriculture technologies, healthy food production capacity is increased, and the need for fruit and vegetables can be met by producing 365 days in geothermal greenhouses.

Ozen Group Chairman of the Board of Directors Cemal Ozen said the following: “We reflect our strength in our agricultural investments on the shelf. We offer fresh and high-quality fruits and vegetables to Onur customers at more affordable prices. As Ozen Group, we continue to invest in agriculture and food, namely the future. We are working to leave a livable world to future generations, our projects based on sustainability, such as ecological agriculture, will continue.”

Several geothermal agricultural projects are in the works in the province of Manisa. These include a planned geothermal exploration drilling campaign in Alasehir, and a 135,000-sq. m. geothermal greenhouse complex currently under construction in the Kula district.
