The five-year partnership agreement will help power houses, C&I and utility scale photovoltaic solar projects in Yemen

Trina Solar, a leading provider of solar energy solutions, has signed a 5-year partnership agreement with Al-Raebi for Trading (Al-Raebi) to supply 500MW of module shipments for the Yemeni market.

The agreement will cater to the country’s increasing energy needs by supplying Trina Solar’s latest n-type i-TOPCon Vertex N PV modules based on 210mm technology, ensuring high reliability and solid performance to partners.

Trina Solar will supply Al-Raebi with 100MW of its n-type i-TOPCon cell technology modules in 2023, with the advanced technology of i-TOPCon cells and 210mm module technology.

Cell efficiency and module power of the Vertex N series have been comprehensively upgraded, bringing module efficiency to as high as 22.4%, with power reaching 605W and 695W for residential, C&I PV applications, and utility settings.

Antonio Jimenez, Managing Director and Vice President, Middle East, Trina Solar, expressed his pride in delivering the power, efficiency, and reliability needed to accelerate the adoption of clean energy in the Yemeni market.

“Trina Solar is proud to see more solar projects implemented in the region through its authorized distributor Al-Raebi and cater to the rapidly-growing demand for solar energy in generating power for residential, commercial, and industrial needs, in addition to farming and agriculture,” said Jimenez.

Abdullah M. Raebi, General Manager of Al-Raebi, stated that more than 70% of households in Yemen are now using solar energy as their primary source of electricity, and it also plays a key role in the extraction and supply of groundwater for irrigation. The partnership between Trina Solar and Al-Raebi demonstrates their commitment to delivering the most advanced solar technology to address the current and future market demand.

Last year, Trina Solar and Al-Raebi signed a deal to supply 40MW of n-type Vertex modules to cater to the growing demand for solar energy in the Yemeni market.

With the tremendous success that these modules have demonstrated, the new 500MW deal comes as a strong testament and a clear indication of the excellent value that these modules are providing to users in Yemen.

In the n-type era, 210mm technology and n-type i-TOPCon cell technology will work together by combining strengths to highlight the lower LCOE-oriented principle.

Trina Solar says it will maintain its leadership and meet the increasing market demand for high-performance PV modules.

The partnership between Trina Solar and Al-Raebi is a significant step towards addressing the energy needs of Yemen, a country that has been facing challenges in meeting the growing demand for electricity.

The deployment of solar energy solutions will help alleviate the energy crisis and provide reliable and sustainable energy to households, businesses, and industries.
