GCL System Integration Technology Co Ltd (SHE:002506), or GCL-SI, expects to begin the operation of a new 60-GW solar module production facility in the capital of east China's Anhui Province in September.
The company announced this during a recently-held online conference to discuss its 2020 performance.
The factory in Hefei will manufacture mostly 210-mm modules, but also 182-mm panels to meet the market demand.
When announcing its plan to build the factory last year, GCL-SI was expecting to spend some CNY 18 billion (USD 2.83bn/EUR 2.3bn) on the project and to execute it in four phases through 2023. Construction work was initiated in December 2020.
