JA Solar Signs Agreement with Indian PV Products Distributor Redington

Chinese solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturer JA Solar has entered into a distribution partnership with India’s PV products distributor Redington.

As per the terms of the agreement, the two companies intend to further strengthen their cooperation to promote the development of rooftop PV projects in India.

Considered as one of the largest PV markets in the world, the country’s rooftop PV market is said to be experiencing a swift upward trend.

The company said that small and medium-sized rooftop projects usually have short construction periods and, therefore, expect a timely supply of solar PV modules.

Under the agreement, JA Solar will be leveraging Redington’s far-reaching distribution channels to supply its solar modules in time to project sites.

Controlling over 90 warehouses across India, Redington has the ability to quickly deliver products and services to local customers.

JA solar anticipates that its new partnership with Redington will help its customers to keep their projects on schedule while promoting the development of the local rooftop PV market.

The Chinese firm has been active in the Indian market since 2015 and is said to have established itself in the country with its product quality, strong financial position and solid industry reputation.

In August this year, JA Solar announced that it had supplied modules for Malaysia’s first bifacial-plus-trackers project.

As per the terms of the agreement, JA solar supplied 43.8MW of modules to the solar facility.

The bifacial module combines bifacial cell technology with double-glass structure and will have the ability to generate clean energy from its backend. Once operational, the solar PV facility is expected to generate 74GWh of renewable energy annually.
