22 Dec 2020  by World-Energy

Turkmenistan Business Network reported on December 15 that, as of now, the natural gas production in Lebap Region of Turkmenistan has reached 7.772 billion cubic meters, and 103.4% of the planned tasks have been completed. In 2019, Lebap Region produced approximately 47,500 tons of condensate gas.

Lebap’s natural gas extraction industry began in the 1960s. The state’s cooperation with foreign companies began in 1988. The Italian company Tehnofrigo implemented the liquefied gas exploration project in the Naipu gas field. Subsequently, the Canadian Thermo Design Engineering He Bagazhang Gas Field and Turkey jointly produce liquefied gas, and most of the products are exported. In addition, the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China natural gas pipeline that was put into operation in December 2009 also came from Lebap Region.
