01 Jul 2020  by Molly Burgess

Polish electric services company Polenergia and Siemens Energy have joined forces to co-develop hydrogen technologies to help decarbonise the power sector.

The companies yesterday signed a letter of intent that will focus on the Polish market.

“We believe in hydrogen and we want to take the position on this sector on the domestic market as quickly as possible,” said Michał Michalski, Ph.D., President of the Management Board at Polenergia.

Through the partnership, the companies will explore the industrial application of high-efficiency co-generation and the introduction of hydrogen production solutions.

“Siemens Energy has been successfully modernising the energy infrastructure for many years, allocating significant R&D funds to solutions determining the future of the energy sector,” said Grzegorz Nalety, CEO of Siemens Energy.

“We work with many shareholders on this market around the world, consistently implementing this vision and strategy. We believe that such partnership activities give a chance to achieve economies of scale, thus consolidating the efforts of many industries moving towards decarbonisation.”
