The project has encountered delays and budget overruns. McDermott International has since assumed the role of lead contractor for Train 1 and is in talks to oversee construction of the remaining two trains. Upon completion, Golden Pass is expected to become the ninth U.S. LNG exporter, contributing to the country’s position as the global leader in LNG exports.
Golden Pass LNG stated: “This re-export authorization is crucial to ensure our facility is ready for safe and efficient operations.”
